In 2009 I was honored to have received a grant from Richard Estes' Acadia Foundation to paint the landscape in and around Northeast Harbor, Maine. During that time I stayed at the guest house of Mr. Estes where I painted Pasture Rose on a Sill. To some extent this painting is a companion piece to Wild Flowers and Pine Cone with Moths as it was done on the same sill using the flowers picked from the landscape you see outside the window.
